Highland Specialty Camp

Dates: 7/16 – 7/29, 7/23 – 8/5, 7/30 – 8/12

Locations: Georgetown Preparatory High School at Bethesda, MD

Introduction: The Highland Specialty Camp is unique experience for students that combines indoor and outdoor education. During the first week of their experience, students will study under professional teachers in the tech field. They will interact and learn beside local students to develop their skills in fields such as game design, coding, and programming. The second week consists of many outdoor activities. Students will learn leadership skills, environmental protection lessons, and sustainability. All classes and activities will be led by extremely qualified and experienced outdoor professionals, and activities range from outdoor team building on ropes courses to sustainability courses at a local farm.

Highlights:

  • High Level Computer Science Curriculum: Students will learn valuable computer science skills that they will use later in life

  • All-around Education: A well rounded curriculum ensures students are exposed to a wide range of activities and experiences

  • Outdoor Education: Students will learn and grow via interacting with the world around them, preparing them to become world leaders

  • Language Immersion: Students will take classes alongside domestic American students and will live with a host family to greatly improve their English communication skills

  • 7/24 – 7/28: Virtual Reality: Designing 3D Worlds

  • 7/31 – 8/4: Game Adventures with LEGO Worlds

  • 8/7 – 8/11: 3D Game Design
